REMEMBER TO ONLY USE FINISH PRODUCT FOR FIBERGLASS NOT WOOD. THE PREPARATION OF THE DOOR BEFORE FINISH IS TO WIPE CLEAN
WITH MINERAL SPIRITS (NOT SOAP AND WATER). AFTER STAIN A CLEAR TOP COAT IS REQUIRED FOR FINAL STEP.

Patented Solar LensŪ Roof Dome Patented reflex optic technology gathers sunlight—even during low-light
hours in the morning, late afternoon, or winter—to maximize light into the tube. The UV-resistant acrylic skylight dome
won't yellow over time.
Adjustable Skylight Tubes Each kit includes components for a 48" installation, from top rim of flashing to ceiling.
Two jointed tubes adjust up to a 45° angle and let you work around obstacles. If more length is needed, 20" and 48" extension tubes are available.
Mirror Finish Tubes ODL's mirror finish skylight tubes optimize light reflected through the tubular shaft while
controlling solar heat gain.
Ceiling Trim Ring Designed for easy installation, the ceiling trim ring's pre-assembled seals eliminate installation
steps and ensure a weathertight fit, minimizing heat loss.
Dual Lens Diffuser The dual lens diffuser spreads soft, natural light throughout interior spaces.

1. Decide how much light you'd like
Light output will vary by time of day, roof orientation and shaft length. Tubular Skylights are not recommended for heavily
shaded roofs. Use the guidelines below to determine the size and number of skylights for a given space.

3. Determine your length requirements
The standard kit length is 48". Extension tubes measuring 20" and 48" are available. The tubes have a highly reflective
mirror finish but the maximum amount of light decreases as the length increases.
Tip: determine if you need extension tubes prior to starting installation.

Angled tube installation Two adjustable tubes can be angled up to 45° to avoid interference with pipes, ducts,
wires, etc. This allows you to locate the diffuser in the best spot on the ceiling. Two adjustable tubes are included with
every kit.
4. Consider exposure to severe weather
The ODL Severe WeatherŪ Tubular Skylight Kit includes a polycarbonate dome and seamless aluminum flashing and is recommended
in applications with hail or hurricane exposure. Meets Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade County impact requirements. Notice of Acceptance packed with each unit.
Note: Kits with aluminum flashing have a design pressure rating of +/- 100 psf. This meets the wind load requirements for
Florida and most of the Caribbean Islands.
For product installed in 2011, homeowners may claim a 10% of product cost (installation costs may NOT be claimed).
Products must be installed in a taxpayer's primary residence by December 31, 2011.
The $500 expenditure cap applies back to the 2009-2010 tax credits.
Taxpayers having claimed between $500 and $1,500 in these prior years, will not be eligible for credit in 2011. Further
information will be available at www.energystar.gov

As part of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, homeowners can claim a federal tax credit of up to $1,500 when they upgrade their primary residence with energy efficient
windows and exterior doors. Reduce your income tax by up to 30% of the purchase price (not including installation costs) of
qualified products installed in 2009 and 2010.
The requirements for receiving a tax credit are as follows:
Qualified products must have NFRC certified u-factor and solar heat hain coefficient (SHGC) ratings that do not exceed 0.30.
The products must be used to improve an existing home.
The home must be the taxpayer's primary residence.
The windows and doors must be installed and available for use between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010.
How to claim your tax credit Step 1: Purchase and install qualifying odl doors and lites
Step 2: Retain receipts that show the cost of the qualifying products and save the NFRC label or manufacturer's
certification statement from each product. Keep these with your tax materials.

U-factor and SHGC explained The U-factor (sometimes called U-value) measures how much heat escapes the home; the
lower the number, the more heat is retained inside where it's needed. U-factor considerations are most important in colder
climates. The Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) measures how much solar radiation enters the home; the lower the number,
the more heat is blocked. SHGC considerations are most important in warmer climates.
Windows and doors with NFRC-certified U-factor and SHGC ratings that do not exceed 0.30 may qualify for the Economic Stimulus Energy Tax Credit.
